Stopped at: Oak Creek, mile 555.1 Miles today: 9.2
Last night I tried my best to ensure I would have an easy time trekking the 9 miles to the highway where I would be able to hitchhike into Mojave. Starting at 8:20 am, I expected to make the mostly downhill trail by 12:30 pm, but the whole scenario turned out to be a big disaster.
After peaking the top about 100 yards from the beautiful camp spot nextto a tree (unfortunately, the shade was on the other side in the morning), I followed the well placed trail markers.
