Two female section hikers passed in the morning heading as far north as Burney Falls State Park, and we chatted briefly. There was a Toyota 4-Runner parked at the trailhead at Highway 89 yesterday, and I wondered if it belonged to them.
When I decided to come to into Ashland, I had no idea what I was going to do or where I was going to stay for the evening. Now I was sitting along a lake eating semi-warm chicken teriyaki from a plastic container like there wasn't a care in the world- at least for tonight. Tomorrow, I was planning on a roast beef sandwich breakfast! Maybe things do happen for a reason....
