13 Hours to Kill

The adjoining room seemed to have been vacant for the past 3 days, making for peaceful rest at the motel. I checked out before noon and headed over to the Greyhound bus station next to the Plaza Casino to rent a locker for the backpack. The bus was leaving at 1:35 am tomorrow.

Suprisingly, the locker rental was only $4.00 for a 24-hour period, which was the cheapest rate I've seen at any Greyhound station. The only hassle was it only accepted quarters.

I headed over to the Las Vegas Club Casino and played for 20 minutes against Julie, a Korean-American dealer who recognized me from the last visit months ago- she even recognized me through the sunburn disguise, "You got a haircut." During the session I won $35.00.

With the earnings, I strolled over to the Fremont to eat the last jumbo long hot dog with soda and shrimp cocktail meal for the trip. $2.40 well spent!

Not participating in the gambling can be very boring, but I had little desire to play. I took the 301 bus to the Strip and strolled around the crowded boulevards. The driver of the 301 bus said the route was very profitable ($2.00 each way) and could support the entire CAT (Las Vegas bus) system.

At night, I returned downtown, ate one last meal at the Fremont and purchased a package of sushi rolls to go.
