Umbrella

Finally, I made it out to Wal-mart on the CAT bus system to buy an umbrella, sun block, and a 4 oz bottle of no-rub contact solution. It took quite a while to travel the distance a car would have made in only a few minutes from Downtown Las Vegas. Most of the time was spent waiting for the connecting bus. I had no problems since I was accustomed to riding the public bus transportation in Houston.

The umbrella cost $10.00 and weighed slightly less than half a pound. Other than the super light weight, it also had a telescoping aluminum shaft. This thing was going to be quite useful!

The knee was slowly improving, but it still ached when I walked down steps. I'll hang onto hope and not give up on my body or the Pacific Crest Trail.

Today will likely be the last night at this motel since the Greyhound bus heads back to El Cajon at 1:35 am on Tuesday. No point spending $24.00 for only half a day during daytime when I can rent a locker at the Greyhound station and spend the time loitering.
